How I show up in this work.

Meeting you where you are, with care and intention.

The work we do matters — and so does who you’re doing it with.

Hi, I'm Zuneybi Contreras, a bilingual Latina Therapist specializing in Anxiety and Trauma.   California

Serving California | Adults, Teens, & Families | 10+ years experience

As a first-generation Salvadoran-Mexican therapist, I understand how culture, family, and identity shape the way we experience the world — and the ways we learn to cope, survive, and show up for others.

That lived experience is part of what drew me to this work. I am deeply passionate about working with the Latinx and BIPOC community — because I recognize the unique challenges our communities face.

My approach is collaborative, thoughtful, and grounded in meeting you where you are. I don’t believe in rushing the process — we move at a pace that feels manageable, while still creating meaningful change.

I work with individuals navigating anxiety, trauma, and the layered experiences that come with cultural identity, relationships, and life transitions.

Starting therapy can feel unfamiliar, but you don’t have to keep carrying this the same way. I’m here to walk alongside you in a way that feels supportive, grounded, and real.

I strive to create an affirming space for clients navigating cultural expectations, identity exploration, and LGBTQ+ experiences.

With over 10 years of experience, I’ve supported individuals, children, families, and young adults navigating anxiety and trauma.

This includes experiences of domestic violence, sexual assault, life transitions, relationship challenges, and the complexities of cultural identity and intergenerational trauma.

While I’ve held leadership roles as a clinical director, I chose to focus my work on direct client care — where I can be most present, intentional, and impactful. That experience shapes how I show up in our work together.

My experience

How I work

My approach is collaborative, supportive, and grounded in helping you feel more present and connected to yourself.

For many people, what shows up in the present is connected to past experiences or trauma that hasn’t had the space to be fully processed. Our work can gently explore those patterns, at a pace that feels safe and manageable.

A space to be real

You don’t have to filter yourself or have it all figured out.

I show up with care and curiosity, so you can be honest about what’s really going on — at your own pace.

Understanding what's underneath

We’ll slow things down and notice the patterns that keep coming up — in your thoughts, your relationships, and your day-to-day life.

From there, we build tools you can use outside of session.

Support that fits your life

We’ll find an approach that fits you — your pace, your needs, and what actually feels helpful.

It’s built around you — at a pace that feels sustainable.

What lights me up

What never gets old is watching someone who once felt completely overwhelmed start to trust themselves again — and seeing them use the skills we've built together, on their own, in their real life. That's why I do this work.

If you're ready to take that step, I'd be honored to walk alongside you.

If this felt familiar, we can start with a conversation.
